Only 23 days, 1 hour and 11 minutes until we become Man And Wife, not that I'm counting or anything.

Robert and I got the adoption set in motion. It'll take a few months, but the girls will finally have a REAL father. Yeah, I'm just taking over his whole life. I even made him give up his computer room, a fact which will probably get me lynched by his computer buddies. I know, I'm evil. But he loves me anyway.

There actually isn't all that much to update. We're registered at Target (yes, Nina ;) ) Bed Bath & Beyond, and JC Penny. Robert is such a considerate geek (I say that in the most affectionate way possible) that he has posted convenient links on our website. As far as gift cards, since none of the places we registered are even in our area, we'd like gift cards to WalMart and Home Depot. And donations to the adoption fund are ALWAYS welcome.

Now that I'm done fishing for gifts, I cannot WAIT to see everyone at the wedding! This is going to be the BEST WEDDING EVER.

Jennie

The Date is Set

Well we now have a firm date set with the church, it is May 31 2008 at 11:00 am when we will get married. So I guess we really need to get in gear for getting things done, cause I am sure that it will be on us in no time at all, and we will be like, but I thought it was months away. I have a link on the main page to the church where we will be getting married at. We have the invitations now and hope we have enough to give to everyone we need to send them to. That reminds me, I really need to start getting some mailing address from people I know since I use the internet most of the time to send them things, Maybe I will take one of the incitations and scan it to the computer just for fun, never know.

Well I guess I should get to working on my school stuff instead of doing this.

Robert Lacy

School and marrage

Well for a bit there we though we where going to have to post pone the wedding cause of school related things. At first the school was not offering a course Jen needed for her, but last minute and I do mean last minute they added that class. Though one of the classes she needed was the night her baby sitter was unable to help out. So I am going to be taking a 7:45 am class so that I will not have a class on Thursday night, cause it looks like I will be the baby sitter on Thursday nights, well next quarter that is. Witch starts some time the first of the new year. I am so not going to like closing at work, then have to be at school at 7:45 am. Not my idea of fun. But at least I have the teacher now and he knows how little sleep I will be getting. But with doing all of this we will be able to get married in May like we wanted to.

Robert

First Premarrage counseling session

On Friday we had our first premarrage counsel. Met up with them at a restaurant and answered some questions he had for us on paper. We then left there and went to an other place so we could talk without others around us. We had a nice chat with them, learned some things, talked about other things. I think it went well for us, though I do know we do need to have more and will do what we can in our power to meet with them to continue this. This is something we both want to do, even though we have been told we need to, but we also want to do this not just cause we have to. I will not mention anything that was said in these, just that we are going to them and learning things from them. This is stuff for us and only us.

Robert

Bridesmaids from Hell

So what I'm thinking is, Sunny and I could hit Kimmie over the head with a blunt object, lock her in the closet, and get Killian as my maid of honor. If push came to shove, I mean. They look a lot alike, after all. Outside of the Roods, I think a lot of people would be fooled; plus, they probably wear the same dress size.

Okay, that was kidding. But seriously, what happened was, I don't have a lot of preference as to the color and style of the bridesmaid dresses, as long as they match, and the flower girls' dresses complement them. So. I made the fatal error of asking my sister Kimmie, my maid of honor, what color she might like to wear? Her answer:

"BLACK!"
"Oh no, hell no, this is not a funeral! It's my wedding! No. No black."
"You said any color"
"Any color but black!"
"You didn't say that before"
"I'm saying it now"
"Black"
"NO"
"BLACK!"
"NO!"

So that goes on for a while, and finally she relents and comes up with a new suggestion.

"RED!"
"You'll look like the wedding harlot!"
"Red AND black"
"Are you insane?"
"It would look awesome!"
"It would look like a UGA advertisement!"
"So?"
"NO"
"Who's wearing this dress anyway?"
"Who's WEDDING is this, anyway?"
"RED!"
"NO!"

So now, I think I have her convinced to wear a nice, soft dark blue. That's nice. And then the girls can wear light blue...

"No, wait a minute, I'm only wearing blue if the little girls wear yellow"
"YELLOW???"

*headdesk*

So back to the stuffing her in a closet thing...

first blog

Just a quick one to see if it works.
